A poetry response to Glyneshia Johnson's artwork

Dialogue in Color features The Writers Place's gallery exhibition of the work of Glyneisha Johnson, a Charlotte Street Fellow and recent KCAI graduate whose collages and paintings delve into experiences of African American domestic life. http://glyneishajohnson.com/page-cv/

For each of the seven works Ms. Johnson is showing in The Writers Place gallery, a local poet will present an original, one-page poem which will be displayed alongside the work. The poets, who are composing their works in the month of December, are Jose Faus, Glenn North, Jessica Ayala, Jermaine Thompson, Anne Gatschet, Sheri Purpose Hall and Chell Navarro. In the first week of January, Glyneisha Johnson will create a visual artwork responding to the poetry and it will be added to the dynamic dialogue on The Writers Place gallery walls. On January 6th at 6:30 PM, The Writers Place will celebrate this project with a public reception and poetry reading.
